Why ID Matters for the Danish Citizenship Test
You must show valid original identification at the test center. Without accepted ID, you can be refused entry to the exam.
Accepted ID for Indfødsretsprøven (2026)
- Residence card, alien's passport (fremmedpas), or convention passport issued by a Danish public authority.
- Passport or national ID card approved for entry to Denmark, issued by a public authority in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
- Passport issued by a public authority in another country with a valid Danish residence sticker.
Important Rule Change to Remember
Driving licenses are not accepted as ID for Indfødsretsprøven.
What Is Not Accepted
- Photos/screenshots of ID on your phone
- Photocopies of documents
- Expired documents
- Danish or foreign driving license
