Requirements for Danish citizenship

Passing the Danish Citizenship Test is one of several possible requirements. Your case depends on the current rules and your personal circumstances.

The test is only one part

Requirements can include residence, self-support, public debt, criminal offences, Danish language skills, and a declaration of allegiance and loyalty. Exceptions and transitional rules can apply.

Nyborger helps you prepare for the test. Nyborger does not assess whether you qualify for citizenship.

Use the official application guidance

Always check the current rules from the Ministry of Immigration and Integration. Use Digital Post or the relevant authority for questions about your case.

If you need to take the test

You must meet both passing rules: 36/45 correct answers overall and at least 4/5 correct answers about Danish values.
