The moler cliffs are now UNESCO World Heritage
On 25 July 2026, the moler cliffs Hanklit on Mors and Knudeklint on Fur were added to UNESCO's World Heritage List. Moler (diatomite clay) is not found anywhere else in the world, and the cliffs contain well-preserved fossils from about 56 million years ago. Denmark now has 10 sites on the World Heritage List.

The Prime Minister in Paris and Danish participation on Bastille Day

Higher commuter tax deduction in 2026
On 25 June 2026, the Folketing decided to raise the commuter tax deduction (kørselsfradrag) for all of 2026. From 9 July, commuters could update their preliminary tax assessment and benefit from the higher deduction already with their July pay. The standard rate rises by 89 øre per km up to 120 km.

NATO summit in Ankara
